Craziest Multi-function Command in AutoCAD

If I had known that this command has so many uses I wouldn’t waste my time in AutoCAD. let me show you what I was missing, so you don’t waste your time too!

Years ago i received weird blocks from a client. Let me explain, these blocks were unable to be exploded and they had this name, minsert block. Of course, at that time I didn’t know what the hell they were, so I ended up redrawing the entire block. Later I discovered that there was an AutoCAD command that could explode any of these weird AutoCAD blocks by following the prompt “yes”. I was surprised that this command could do that so one day I tested it to see what else this command could do for me. What I found was amazing! first, I discovered that I could use this command to edit any of my blocks without affecting the rest of the other blocks.

In other words, this command could rename the block for me automatically and kind of make it unique in the drawing. Second, I didn’t know that this command could also convert any text to a polyline by following the prompt “yes”.

Hey but this was not all! this command could also convert any 3d objects to a 2d one by following with the prompt “no”.

Ever since that day I have made my life easier by using this multi-function AutoCAD command. Hi there, I’m Irving from the Lazy Arquitecto, can you make your friend’s life easier? This Command is “FLATTEN”, share!
